The next major storm to hit Colorado will arrive on Thursday evening and last through Saturday morning. The best powder days of the next week should be Friday and Saturday morning. This storm will come in from the northwest and a strong cold front will cool the mountains and warm the valleys (because it’ll scour out the super cold air trapped in the valleys). Good moisture coming ahead of the cold front will move in from the southwest and should give the southern San Juans a bunch of snow Thursday night into Friday (read: powder day for Wolf Creek and perhaps other areas down there). As the storm crosses Colorado, the flow will switch from southwest to northwest and central and northern areas should see the best snow from Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. Of course the timing could change a bit, but this looks pretty good right now.
